MAth balloons
Math Balloons
This is an interactive game for students to prepare themselves for fast paced problems in Algebra. In this interactive game-play, students are required to assess their algebraic capabilities by testing themselves with the use of variables. The concept of the game is to click whether the statement is true or false. If answered correctly, the balloon pops, but if answered incorrectly, the student must start a new problem and the balloon does not pop. This is a fun activity where students must think as quickly as possible and try to pop as many balloons as they can. As the balloons pop and fall, the player must try to get three or more balloons of the same color in a row in order to change the background yellow. The player must fill the board in yellow as much as they can until the time runs out. Once completed, the player moves onto the next level. This game allows students to practice on fast paced thinking with multiplying and dividing. It also helps them with their accuracy in getting the answer correctly |
algebra meltdown
Algebra Meltdown
This interactive game is mainly for students at the Algebra level working with variables. In this game, students are playing as a scientist trying to solve the problem at the bottom right by putting in the right element located at the top of the tube. When the player puts inside the correct ball, the scientist is happy and leaves but when the player puts in the wrong ball, the scientist's experiment explodes in his face. This is also a fast paced thinking game for students to work with their addition with both positive and negative numbers. If the player is slow, the scientist becomes frustrated and then it creates a line of other scientists waiting to be served their experiment. |
Square root game
Square Root Game
This is also a preparatory game for students who seek extra help with square roots. In this game Students must be quick and try to find the match between the integer and its square root. The example above shows the match with two and the square root of four. This is a match because the square root of 4 is in fact 2. The player must try to find all the matches before the time ends. As the player becomes better at finding the matches, each level after becomes tougher and the player must deal with more matching. This is not just a game of knowing each square root, but it is also a game of memory which can be fun and innovative to students. |
catch the fly
Catch the Fly
This is a game for students who need help with graphing. In this game, the player is a frog and must eat is prey, the fly. At the beginning of the game, the fly flies and settles on a point. The player must input the x and y values at the bottom to pinpoint the point to where the fly is at so the frog can eat it. Players can play multiple time to test their knowledge of understanding the x/y, input/output, or domain/range values. This is a good lesson for students before we get into high levels of thinking that deal with graphs. |
