Internet safety
Students should always and I repeat, ALWAYS remember, SAFETY FIRST. The internet has become so vast and so great to our generation, but it also poses great dangers if not used effectively and correctly.
First, you should never put your information on your social media blog especially since you are a minor. Strangers have the capability of finding your information such as your name, address, and other vital information on you should know. This also goes for putting up false information. Falsifying your identity can also lead you into other dangers that lurk within the internet. Some helpful tips would be searching your own name on the search engine and if you see information about you up from a site you have used, delete it or erase it immediately. Remember to always change your password periodically.
Second, there are many viruses that can cause harm to your computer. You should have a very stable antivirus scanner within your laptop or computer to keep it from harming or even destroying your computer. Worse of all, viruses can steal information from your computer that you have kept secret. Tell a trusted adult or someone with technological capabilities to take a look at your computer if you wind up getting a virus. Helpful tips is to never fall for the advertisements on the site you are looking at especially the ones that say you will win a prize if you play.
Finally, remember that the internet is a resource for you as students to study. Spend time with it going through educational resources. On social websites, you are allowed to communicate with strangers from all over the world. Remember if you ever decide to speak to them, keep your information to yourself and only discuss within the topic such as the contents within a youtube video. Do not use you ability to communicate with others by trash talking them. If you have nothing nice to say, it is better to not say anything at all
